Dearest Family and Chosen Family,

We are grateful for our far-flung relatives and friends who will show support by traveling a long distance, to an unfamiliar location, to share in our celebration. We recognize the precious time and great expense everyone will take to brave the cabbies and crowded subways to trek deep into the West Village of New York City.
Furthermore, we are fortunate enough to have already built a home for ourselves full of both the stuff of our fancy as well as the majority of modern day conveniences. For this reason, we would proudly and happily like to express that at this point in time we are not in need of “conventional” registry items and have therefore chosen not to register with any particular establishment.
A peek at our real “wish list” would reveal simply this: to be surrounded by the people we love at the very moment we step forward into a brand new life together and subsequently, to see their smiles, hear their laughter, eat, drink and dance the night away with them in joyous celebration.
However, we recognize the importance of the traditional ritual that commemorates marriage with a gift. Being a couple that enjoys gift giving as much as receiving, we understand this and so if you too are the type who cannot not, we have brainstormed a few ideas which we will leave for you here:
**We will be leaving for a honeymoon to Ireland, England and Spain immediately following the wedding. We have booked the majority of our travel and so, while we are not relying on gifts to enjoy ourselves, we would gladly welcome donations to the cause for activities and extras such as museum entry, dinners, parasailing, souvenir shopping, a room upgrade, etc.
**Our apartment lease will not be up for several months and in our current situation, we do not have room for (and/or our current leasing company will not allow…) certain things that we most definitely hope to acquire once we do move in Jan/Feb 2010. If you are the sort who would prefer to contribute to a physical thing, rather than a memory, here are three funds we plan to start as soon as we return from our honeymoon for additions to our new home:
1. A Welsh Corgi Puppy – specifically a pup like this:

2. An energy efficient washer unit and dryer unit
3. The down-payment for a condo of our very own
Obviously we would not expect anyone to pay for any of these things in their entirety, so please be assured that even the smallest contribution would be gratefully received.
Finally, we would like to make it clear that the above are merely suggestions. We know that some of you have already formed your own ideas of what to give us, and we do not doubt that still others may know even better than we do what the perfect gift for us might be. So we ask you to stick to your gut and follow your heart, because let’s be honest, isn’t that how we ended up here in the first place?

Love,
Bryna & Seann
